In this presentation we will take what we have learned about the World Triathlon Points System and develop it into a working model to help real athletes climb from 0 points to potentially making it onto an Olympic Team. In this presentation we will look beyond just the points but also into the required benchmarks and performance levels required in order to achieve the race goal performance needed to stay on track and to keep climbing.

Course Content

World Triathlon Points System – Athlete Case Study – Planning The Path Forward
This course looks at the pathway athletes looking to go from 0 points in 2024 would have to take to reach the Olympics in Triathlon in 2028. The athletes we are looking at the planning for include 1 Canadian athlete and 1 American athlete. This presentation also looks at the benchmark metrics that we can expect each athlete to need to reach during each year of the Olympic cycle in order to be competitive and achieve the required race results.

This course will give to the coach a very informative and specific example of how to apply the Point System to actual work with an athlete. It will also illustrate the true meaning of being a proactive coach, who sets up and achieves the long term goals.
